THE PROBLEM

Die Kunden von Kobia sind in Cafés, Bäckereien und Konditoreien zu finden, wo sie die meisten Dinge liefern, die zu ihrem täglichen Geschäft gehören – von Frikadellen und Margarine bis hin zu Servietten und Kartons. Kobia verkauft einige auch an die Bäckereiindustrie und an Unternehmen, die Bäckereien im Laden anbieten, sogenannte Bake Off in Stores.

- Man kann im Grunde sagen, dass wir ein Zutatenlieferant sind, der den Kunden mit allem hilft, was sie für ihren Café-Teil brauchen, sagt Jonas Huss, der als Einkaufsleiter im Unternehmen tätig ist. Wir sind neben einem Vollsortiment-Großhändler. Außerdem verfügen wir über drei Versuchsbäckereien, in denen wir für unsere Kunden Kurse abhalten und Rezepturen testen und entwickeln.

Jonas sagt, dass Kobia Hilfe brauchte, um echte Statistiken zu erhalten, auf denen seine Einkäufe basieren könnten, anstatt sich wie zuvor auf das Bauchgefühl zu verlassen.

- Wir wollten schwarz auf weiß, wie die Lagerbestände aussehen, um die Lagerbestände niedrig zu halten, aber gleichzeitig sicherzustellen, dass wir das haben, was die Kunden verlangen.

Zuvor arbeiteten sie mit einer selbst entwickelten Lösung, die in das Geschäftssystem integriert wurde. Das Problem dabei war, dass jeder andere Teile kannte – niemand wusste alles – was es verwundbar machte.

THE SOLUTION

It soon became clear that SOLO had the functions that were requested, all in one and the same system as well.

- SOLO helps us by making suggestions on how much we should buy, and then it is up to us to either press the button to approve the proposal, or adjust the order. In cases where, for example, a one-time purchase for which the system lacks history, a manual adjustment may be needed, but the proposal we receive is often correct.

THE VALUE SOLO ADDS

Decisions that were previously based largely on intuition and qualified guesses, are today well substantiated with up-to-date figures and statistics. This has meant that Kobia has gained more secure control over its stock balances, which in turn has led to more secure purchases; it is no longer as easy to miss something. In the long run, this will help keep inventory value down.

In addition to this, you also see great time savings as a result of working in SOLO.

- I would estimate that we have made a time saving of about 30%. This time we can now instead put on, for example, procurements and supplier contacts. Our buyers have thus become more strategic than operational.

The fact that everything is now gathered in a system that many have knowledge of, has made the handling less vulnerable.

Kobia is now developing a tailor-made system together with PromoSoft, which will be able to handle three different layers with three different challenges.

- It is one of the advantages of working with a local player - there are great opportunities to be involved and influence. PromoSoft is also both nice to deal with, and responsive to our feedback.
